(January 7, 2010)
Last year UFE Halloween Mayhem was, once again the biggest fitness competition in Canada with over 150 entries and an audience of over 2000 people throughout the day! It is becoming so big, in fact, that it will now become a 2 day monster on October 23rd and 24th and will feature seminars, afterparties and some surprises throughout what will be known as the Mayhem Weekend. One of the loures of the competition is CASH PRIZE MAYHEM in which $50 from every open division entry goes into a pool to form the cash prize for the overall winner of each category. Last year overall winners received as much as $1900 for winning their category and we expect to top that this year!!

UFE President, Sean Everingham actually conceptualized this event as part of another organization in 2005. At that time, it was the biggest event in the entire organization beside one other event...the event run by Mike Clement in Montreal. At that time, the Montreal event had the advantage of being an established event and edged out Mayhem as the biggest event in the organization for the 2 years that the events "competed" with one another.

Once again, Sean and Mike are part of the same organization and once again Mayhem will take place in Hamilton, Ontario and Mike will head up the UFE Chaos event in Montreal. UFE has been building a lot of hype in Montreal and with Mike Clement having a large following and Montreal being one of the biggest fitness and bodybuilding centres in the country, it will be interesting as UFE Halloween Mayhem takes on UFE Chaos for the reigns as the biggest event in UFE and perhaps Canada!

To motivate our friends in Quebec a little bit more we have decided to replace the $500 cash prizes with CASH PRIZE CHAOS! This means that $50 from EVERY open division entry within a category will form a pool to make up the cash prize for the overall winners in those respective categories! With that, we look forward to seeing if Montreal can topple the beast that is Mayhem...however, Chaos will face competition from the quickly growing UFE Spring Bash event and the new UFE Showdown event taking place in London this spring! Whatever the outcome, we look forward to a whole new group of awesome Elite division competitors coming to UFE's pinnacle event of the year, the UFE National Championship in November to compete for our seven 2010 Ultimate Championships and a share of over $60,000 in CASH and prizes!

(December 5th)
**as reported on http://arnoldsportsfestival.com/bulletins/
Winners of the IFBB professional events at the 2010 Arnold Sports Festival will receive unique body sculptures courtesy of Eaglewood Sculpts of Imlay City, MI.  Eaglewood and owner Clay Williams will award Custom Body Sculptures to the winners of the Arnold Classic, Ms. International, Fitness International and Figure International.

The sculptures, valued at a minimum $2,200.00 each, are created using a process called "Cold Cast Metal" and the sculptures awarded to the Arnold winners will be made using Cold Cast Bronze.

“We are proud to partner with the Arnold Sports Festival for the first time and look forward to making sculptures of some of the best-defined bodies in the world,” Williams said. “Our sculpts will capture the winning competitors’ bodies in peak condition and provide a lifelong keepsake of their victory at the Arnold.”

The winning athletes will have an actual mold taken of their bodies in peak physical shape using skin safe materials. Williams will create the custom sculpt that will be suitable for hanging on a wall.

The winning athletes will have their choice of poses and parts of their physique that they want to capture.

Williams and Eaglewood Sculpts will also have a booth at the 2010 Fitness EXPO. For more information, visit www.eaglewoodsculpts.com or contact Williams at 810-358-0209.

It's been nearly 4 years since UFE President, Sean Everingham worked with Mike Clement.  At that time, Sean was one of the leading contest promoters for another organization and Mike was another successful contest promoter and Head Judge for the same organization.  Each of them ran their own events and both of them had the biggest events on the circuit with that organization.  As such, they were called upon to work together as a team with other promoters to run their events across Canada and the US and were a driving force behind the success and reputation of those events.  However, in 2006, Sean had left the organization to form something he felt was needed in the industry and Mike stayed behind, being the loyal person he is.  Since that time, both Sean and Mike had maintained a positive relationship.

This November, Mike finally announced he was "retiring" from his position with the other organization.  With a large following of supporters, the industry may have felt it lost someone very special.  However, UFE is very excited to announce that we have brought Mike on board as our Event Director and partner for UFE Chaos in Montreal!

We have really wanted to enter Montreal in a big way and give our friends in Quebec one heck of a show.  Now we are extremely confident that we can deliver on that with the addition of Mike to the team.  Mike is an extremely hard worker, he has an excellent following and his reputation in the industry speaks for itself!  With UFE, we intend to treat him as such.

Please join us in welcoming Mike to the UFE Team!

Coming off a huge 2009 season, UFE looks for an even stronger 2010 season!  Growing from 3 shows, UFE is now hosting shows across Ontario as well as our first event outside of Ontario.  Our Spring Series starts with UFE Spring Bash on April 10th, an event last year that sold out the building and featured over 80 of the best bodies in fitness.  We are excited for our 3 new events starting with UFE Fitness & Bikini Model Showdown in London, Ontario the day after Spring Bash on April 11th.  This event will be an Elite division show and will take place as part of the new and exciting London Fitness and Lifestyle Show on the Western Fairgrounds.  UFE then brings its brand of fitness to Quebec with UFE Chaos on May 8th.  Being our first show in an amazing city like Montreal, the audience and competitors can expect UFE to come to town in a big way!  To close out the Spring Series, UFE heads back to London, Ontario for UFE Showdown on June 5th.

The fall series will feature the monster, Halloween Mayhem as it becomes a 2 day event as part of the Mayhem Weekend!  We have a ton of exciting things planned for this weekend, a mind blowing new stage design and an opening act that will be talked about in the industry for years.  We anticipate this being one of the most exciting fitness events in history and that's not just hype.  After Mayhem, we can't just leave everyone hanging so we get the adrenaline pumping one more time as the UFE National Championships see us back in Hamilton on November 13th for a showdown of the very best competitors in the industry vie for a share in over $60,000 in CASH and prizes!

If you haven't yet experienced a UFE show, what are you waiting for?  Join the Revolution in Fitness Entertainment!

Hello Everyone,

The 2009 contest season has come to a close for UFE and it was one heck of a year.  For those that were a part of them, I hope you all enjoyed our events! All of our events grew immensely, making us, without a doubt, the largest drug tested fitness organization in Canada and one of the fastest growing in North America. We have worked very hard to give our competitors the very best stage to compete on in terms of exposure, production and prizes. Our goal is to make each event a true show in which all of our competitors are made to feel special in, not just those who win. We also look to give all of our competitors the most opportunity possible and more and more of you are realizing opportunity because we have amazing competitors bringing top notch physiques.

The UFE National Championships was quite an awesome show and what has inspired me to keep pushing forward with what we do is the fact that I am blessed with a group of humble and gracious competitors. Some competitors came in for fun and to bring your best physique as your only goal and I'm glad you had a great time. Many competitors came to win and for those who didn't, I know what it's like to suffer a defeat when you've worked so hard. However, what makes someone a true competitor is to be humble in winning and gracious in defeat and focus on what it will take to do even better the next time. In all cases, there was such a positive energy maintained with the competitors and you have all made me want to bring you an even better 2010 season so be prepared for some AMAZING shows! With UFE, the goal is to make all of our competitors feel like part of an amazing event whether they're first place or 20th place.

There is much more to say and many more thank you's to give, but I hope everyone gets the point that I know our success is because of all of you who support us on the stage and in the seats at each event and I am humbled and thankful for all of you.

Sincerely,

Sean Everingham, President

UFE has grown by leaps and bounds because of those who support us spreading the word about UFE and what we do.  This is the only way we will continue to grow, allowing us to put on bigger and bigger events with more and more opportunity for our competitors.  We appreciate everyone's effort in doing this and we wanted to thank one competitor in particular, Charmaine Broughton, who submitted this picture to us.  Charmaine competed with UFE at the UFE National Championships and stayed into the next day in her hotel.  In an act of amazing dedication, she actually made her way down to the hotel gym in the morning sporting the UFE T-Shirt she had received at the show and ran into a couple of the CFL's BC Lions players who were gearing up to face off with the Hamilton Tiger Cats in the Grey Cup playoffs.  Thanks for the picture you got with them sporting your UFE T Charmaine!  Unfortunately for the hometown Cats, this UFE moment inspired the BC Lions to go on and win the game...

If you have a UFE T-Shirt and have any interesting or exciting moments you have captured while wearing it, email us at info@UFEshows.com and we may just profile it on our home page...just like this one!

(November 8, 2009)
Well UFE Halloween Mayhem has come and gone, but if you were there, you know this was one event that will live on in peoples' minds for a very long time. We worked very hard to bring one of the best fitness events ever seen to the industry and we have received tremendous feedback about it.

But rest assured, you still have not seen anything yet. For those missing the adrenaline rush...we bring it back one more time this year with the UFE National Championships on November 14th where we'll feature an all new stage production and be giving away over $60,000 in CASH and prizes. And for those of you who liked my opening act this time...I hate to admit it, but what you will witness as the opening act for the Elite Championships will probably kick my butt. And in 2010, you will see us step up the events even more! More prizes, more exposure, better stage production and one show will feature a segment that will likely leave people feeling like they were a part of history...no BS!

So while I sit here and hype UFE up and put these elaborate shows together, the truth of the matter is that it is all of you who have made UFE what it is. From coming out to the shows, to competing and to spreading the word, you have helped us grow and feed the passion to become the best organization in the industry so that our competitors have the very best stage to step foot on and our fans leave feeling like they had an amazing experience. For that, I sincerely thank you and you can always count on the fact that I want you all to have the Ultimate Fitness Experience so continue to look forward to great things!

Hope to see you all on November 14th!

There is now less than one week until UFE goes out with a bang in 2009 and we promise it will be a bang. If you like the opening act that took place at Mayhem, you will be blown away by what's in store to open up the Elite Championships at 6pm...all we'll say is that it will be perhaps the most entertaining and exciting opening acts that's ever been seen in the industy and as the innovators in fitness entertainment, UFE is continuing to step up its game.

In addition, all new stage production from last year will make our competitors feel like the stars they are and the audience riveted in their seats.

Oh ya, and did we mention the $60,000 in CASH and prizes ;)

Be there or be square...

(October 15, 2009)
Well, UFE Halloween Mayhem 3 is now less than 2 weeks away and it promises to live up to the hype as one of the most exciting fitness events in the industry period. As the Mayhem weekend becomes bigger and bigger and has drawn competitors from literally across Canada and down as far as Florida in the US, we have finally decided to listen to the years of asking for an afterparty and our response to this request has come together in the form of The Aftermath.

The Aftermath will take place at the London Taphouse, located at 31 John Street South in Hamilton, just a few minutes walk from our host hotel, the Crowne Plaza. The afterparty is open to ALL competitors and ALL attendees of UFE Halloween Mayhem who purchase a wristband at the competitor meeting on Friday the 23rd or at the UFE booth on the day of the show.

The wristband is $10 and gives gives you the following:
- a bypass of the line at the club (other than the line of other wristband holders if there are a significant number)
- no cover at the door
- access to the private Aftermath party floor

Taking place on the Aftermath party floor we have tried to think of it all. We will obviously have a private bar serving drinks, but will also have a different fat inducing, non competition friendly food coming out every hour. One hour will include chocolate bars, another hour will include donuts and another hour will include pizza. We will also have hourly sock tosses where we will throw out 5 socks on the hour starting at 10pm. Those catching a sock will open to find different prizes that could include drink vouchers, $100 CASH, chocolate bars or gift certficates. Why the sock?!?! Because we felt like it (we're still deciding if they'll be dirty socks). Attendees will also be able to mingle with the UFE staff in the VIP area located on the private floor and may even be able to convince us to give up some free drinks.

And when you feel like dancing the night away, join the rest of the club upstairs in the main dancefloor area.

For those of you who will be competing in UFE Halloween Mayhem 3 or watching, you will likely be a part of history as Mayhem breaks it's own record in Canadian fitness for audience attendance and may break records for athletes in a 1 day event.

UFE typically sells advance show tickets through our ticketing service, TicketBreak where we are now listed in the top 10 hottest events with hundreds of other events being sold on the site. Tickets will be available at the door, but to guarantee your seat and for discounted advance prices, you may want to consider getting your tickets now! http://www.ticketbreak.com/event_details/2958

We are now at nearly 100 actual entry forms and over 120 entries with crossovers. While that is not yet a record, there are last minute entries coming in by the hour and as is typical, we can expect up to a few dozen competitors to register at the athlete meeting on Friday. What that means is that we now have a half dozen magazines that will be sending representatives to attend the shows, nearly a dozen of the top industry photographers and scouts and nearly a dozen supplement companies sending reps, including the owners themselves. This means that this is THE show to be seen at. Not to mention as part of CASH Prize Mayhem, the CASH being awarded at the show will surpass $5000 and we hope to see that approach $10,000 as it grows with EVERY single open entry.

Want in?! Download your entry form here: http://www.ufeshows.com/halloweenmayhem_registration.php

And for those who can't get enough Mayhem...The Aftermath, the official Mayhem 3 afterparty will leave you buzzing! VIP wristbands for The Aftermath will be available at the UFE booth at the show!

You all READY!?!?!

UFE is proud to encourage the next generation of fitness superstars with our Junior Fitness division for girls age 9-18 years.  One of the shining stars of this division is Madison Carter.  To meet Madison is to meet a young lady who is extremely intelligent, extremely well spoken and extremely motivated to encourage others to join the fitness movement.  For her efforts and to help her dreams of becoming a spokesperson to motivate youth to participate in a healthy lifestyle that includes fitness, UFE is proud to sponsor her to compete in our shows.  Most recently Madison was featured in Snap Magazine; the article read:

Ultimate Fitness Dreams

12 year old Whitby native Madison Carter has already achieved goals many will never reach in a lifetime! Madison, a competitive gymnast, started gymnastics at 2 years old which led to an interest in Ultimate Fitness Events(UFE). She entered her first UFE show in November 2008 placing second in the Jr. Fitness category. This year she competed in the bodybuilding category, normally not open to youth, placing firsts in both the Women’s Lightweight and Jr. Fitness categories! She has been featured on television, and is the first child to appear in Fitness magazine and Oxygen magazine. Madison would love to become a spokesperson for kids to promote fitness and encourage them never to give up on their goals and dreams. She also hopes to pursue Ultimate Fitness Events and is currently looking for sponsorship. If you would like to assist Madison, please contact gym_fan_mady@hotmail.com. For more information on UFE, visit www.ufeshows.com

Congratulations for your efforts and on getting the word out to others about a positive lifestyle Madison, and we look forward to you leading the new generation of fitness enthusiasts!

Because of Clay Williams at Eaglewood Sculpts, UFE is able to offer our competitors one of the most unique prizes in the industry and something our competitors can cherish forever!  A custom body sculpt is a competitor's opportunity to capture a moment in time when they were at their very best!  Years down the road, this beautiful momento will capture the physique far more dramatically than still photography or video ever could.  Now the work of Clay Williams is capturing the attention of both the sculpture industry and the fitness industry.  First, Eaglewood Sculpts is featured on the cover of "Sculpture Journal" in which he displays, none other that the custom body sculpt of UFE Spring Bash Bodybuilding Champion Victor Wojkiewicz!  Inside the journal, Clay explains the process of doing beautiful stone finishes on the custom body sculpts in order to make it appear as if the sculpture was actually carved out of stone.

The exciting news continues as the Arnold Fitness Weekend organizers have contacted Clay in order to speak with him and perhaps have him award custom body sculpts to some of the winners of the Arnold!

UFE would like to congratulate Clay and Eaglewood Sculpts on achieving such a high level of recognition in the industry.  We are very proud to be working with Clay to award several custom body sculpts valued at over $2500 at the UFE National Championships on November 14th which will contribute significantly to a prize purse valued at over $60,000!  To contact Clay personally about questions pertaining to body sculpts or to commission him for custom sculpture work, you can go to his website at www.eaglewoodtc.com, look around his website and click on contact for all his contact info.

UFE gives our fans and group members on Facebook some special opportunties that are exclusive to them in order to give people a reason to come and join us. One of those opportunities was "The Ultimate Fitness Contest on Facebook" in which we had a 2 month contest in order to see who would be our UFE Spokesmodel. We also decided that 5 runners up would be part of Team UFE.

The contest was 2 months long and during that time we were looking for the person with the right look, the ability to promote and the passion for what we are doing with UFE. That person proved to be Monica Winn. As Spokesmodel, Monica will be a part of promotional events that UFE participates in. In addition, she will be selected for opportunties with sponsors and be promoted by UFE in the industry. Her job will be to help spread the word of what we are doing with UFE in a positive and motivating way. For being selected as our Official Spokesmodel, Monica will be accompanying UFE on an expenses paid trip to Las Vegas for the Olympia Weekend. In addition, she will receive a custom body sculpt done courtesy of Eaglewood Sculpts, a photoshoot by Arsenik Photography, FREE entry into her choice of fall UFE event and a subscription to Canada's leading fitness magazine, Inside Fitness!

Congratulations to the 5 runners-up who will help promote UFE in the industry as part of Team UFE: Melissa Traynor, Melissa Francis, Drexel Long, Sophie Haddad and Erin Bailey.

The Aftermath will take place at The London Tap House, 31 John Street South (at the corner of John Street and Main Street), just a short walk from the host hotel.

UFE is very excited to announce that, beginning with UFE Halloween Mayhem on October 24th, 2009, we will be launching a new division for women 45 years and over in the Figure category! With women like Tosca Reno leading a new wave of fitness for women over 40, the fact that more and more people these days want to remain competitive into their later years and the fact that women over 40 have strong voices and have told us that they want to have a division for women over 45, we have listened!

With that said, we would like to see all you 45+ women show the young ones how it's done and take to the stage at one of our upcoming fall events:

Check out the July '09 issue of Oxygen Magazine and you will find coverage of UFE's Spring Bash event along with some of our competitors on page 135.  Also, check out UFE Spring Bash competitor, Karen Kryzanowski as she is featured in Oxygen for an ad for our Title Sponsor, Thermo-Lean on page 119.  This is now the 3rd issue in a row that the leading women's fitness mag has covered our events and/or our competitors.

We are very excited about the support they have shown as this takes the exposure for our competitors to new heights.  We have also had representatives from Oxygen, Reps and Maximum Fitness request passes for our fall events so don't miss your chance to be seen!  Be a part of it all this fall!

(July 26, 2009)
Look for Canada's biggest and best fitness magazine on newstands everywhere featuring Georges St-Pierre on the cover and over 195 pages of Canadian muscle and fitness.  Among those pages is loads of UFE coverage.  Welcoming you to the magazine on IFM's Welcome Page is a beautiful full-page, black and white photo of UFE competitor Tim Lochhead photographed by one of UFE's star photographers, Chris Linton.  On page 26, you will find UFE Halloween Mayhem 2008 Bikini Model champ, Monica Winn as she tells the readers about her plans to tear it up on the stage once again in the fall.  Page 29 features a story about UFE competitor and a very loyal supporter of our organization, Liana Saadi.  Liana, while still competitive, is now very active in photographing the fitness world and she does incredible work.  IFM writer, Brian Bailey uses a huge picture of UFE's 2008 Bikini Model Ultimate Champion for his story on page 60, making note of how "smokin' hot" she is.  Don't worry people, if you're thinking that's really creepy, they are of no relation.  A photo recap and show summary of UFE Spring Bash occupy pages 178 and 179.  I think everyone will agree that the calibre of our competitors has stepped up several notches even since last year.  Finally, look for our 1 page feature for UFE Halloween Mayhem and the UFE National Championships on page 185.  These are 2 fitness events that will take the industry to a new level so don't miss them! Tickets and entry for both of these spectacles are now open.

Inside Fitness has been a huge supporter of UFE and the fitness industry in general and we thank them for giving our competitors the exposure they deserve.  Now let's do our part to support publications like this and go out and pick up your copy today.

And don't forget ladies...if you want to be shot for a guaranteed feature in the mag and a test cover shoot, don't miss the UFE National Championships featuring the IFM Model Search '09.  Not only will our Elite Female Fitness Model Champion come away $1000 richer, have a sponsorship contract, photoshoots and more, she will also receive the title of Inside Fitness Model Search Champion and be shot for a guaranteed feature and test shoot for the cover!

Many of you know Chris Batista as "The Voice of UFE," but at only 3 (going on 5) shows a year, one wonders what the heck this guy does outside of our shows.  Well, Chris is not only an accomplished author, not only has he had hosting jobs on shows such as Canada AM and not only is he a personal trainer, but Chris is a very spiritual man who has created a very unique program meant to bring total health to those who participate.  It's called Zen Stretch and it's very quickly gaining momentum in these times of high stress and a higher awareness of the importance of one's health.  We encourage you to read little more about it below and contact Chris (bodhi@zenstretch.ca) should you have any questions or would like to participate:

 Zen Stretch Moving Meditation

The program is designed to facilitate a dramatic increase in total body flexibility, joint range of motion, as well as muscular stability. The workout itself is composed of a series of 68 full range isometric muscular contractions performed in a continuous flowing series of movements. By combining deep diaphragmatic breathing with the intense stretching and contracting of opposing muscle groups, Zen Stretch will increase range of motion around all joints of the body, promote dramatic changes in total body muscular flexibility, as well as stimulating  overall muscle tone and stability.

“Physical tension in the body creates stress and tension in the mind. In turn, that mental stress will manifest as added physical tension”.

Once you have learned the full series of movements, you can take your fitness to the next level by turning your attention inward to your breath and transform your physical workout into a moving meditation. By focusing inwardly on your breath, the outside stresses of everyday life melt away, giving your mind a chance to rest and recharge. For true health and fitness it is necessary to train your mind as well as your body. A mind that is quiet and still has a greater capacity for inspiration, knowledge, creativity  and happiness.

Halloween Mayhem holds a special place with UFE President, Sean Everingham. It is an event he created several years ago and includes a concept that is far different than any other fitness event in the world which is why it has quickly become one of Canada's biggest fitness events. While including all the typical categories you would find in any other fitness event, intertwining a day like Halloween into a fitness show has allowed me to be very creative in the design and the format of the show...everything from the stage production to allowing competitors to wear Halloween costumes sets this event apart from the rest and makes for a fun and exciting show. It is also the event that began UFE and launched us immediately into the industry as a leading fitness organization. It is with this in mind that we look to make UFE Halloween Mayhem one of the most amazing and entertaining fitness events...period!

You will notice a very different look to this year's show. The look is much darker and the "freak factor" is taken very seriously this time. The promotional material reflects a very different show this year. While we will still be awarding kick ass cash prizes and having a lot of fun, we are taking the Halloween concept to a whole new level to create a show that is so far beyond what the industry has seen before that it will blow your mind. From the new stage design and to the production of the event, the show this year will entertain the audience like no other and will keep the entire building on their toes. The competitors will almost feel as though they are not only competing, but starring in a movie. We can only tell you how cool this event will be, but you'll have to come and see for yourself. We are not promoting celebrities at this event to help draw people in with star power...this event will stand on it's own to blow everyone a part of it away.

The day will be October 24th; the location will be at the McIntyre Theatre in Hamilton, Ontario; the event will be crazy! In 2009...the Mayhem will rule! Entry and tickets are now open for this one of a kind fitness show!

(June 9, 2009)

(June 1, 2009)
Despite much of what has been going on with FAME and some of the industry backlash against them, most fitness organizations have a respect for one another. As most people know, UFE has a relationship of support with the WBFF even though some of our philosophies differ. Being based in Ontario, I also personally had a good working relationship with those involved with OPA. While I would let their representatives and promoters come out to our shows to promote to the competitors and audience in attendence, they would extend the same courtesy to myself. It was of benefit to all of us because the competitors became aware of all the opportunities that existed with our organizations and the industry in general.

However, I was very disappointed to hear rumours that the CBBF (along with their provincial affiliates like OPA) was trying to ban competitors who competed with other organizations outside of CBBF and their provincial affiliates. Both Paul Dillett and I saw this as an attack against organizations that have been trying to do good things for our competitors as well as against competitors who have every right to choose one or every organization they want to be able to compete in as an amateur. Both WBFF and UFE looked into this and saw that this was not something they could legally do and both organizations fought back against what the CBBF was allegedly trying to do.

Just recently CBBF released a statement that applies to them and all of their provincial affiliates. The policy is that CBBF will send a letter to competitors who are designated as PROS from organizations the CBBF does not recognize. This letter will allow the competitor to apply for amateur status again with CBBF if they agree to relinquish their PRO status from the non recognized organization. Should the competitor refuse, then they can no longer be considered an amateur with the CBBF and will be banned from competition.  They also consider those who accept CASH prizes to be non-amateur competitors, much like the NCAA does in the US.

With that said, we feel that is a fair policy. CBBF is designated for amateur competitors from levels 1 to 4 and if a competitor wants to call themselves a PRO with any organization then they obviously don't fit the criteria for being an amateur competitor. Whether CBBF made this clarification due to the fact that this was the case all along and the rumours were false or because of how UFE and WBFF fought back against this policy is not known to me, but in either case, I give them kudos for making their policy clear.

UFE then poses NO risk to competitors of being banned. UFE has an Open stream for competitors of ANY level and an ELITE stream for top ranked competitors from UFE and those who qualify for Elite status through other organizations (see our website for details). That being said, even our Open shows feature a larger cash prize purse than many of these "Pro" organizations and our total prize purse for the UFE National Championship Elite division showdown stands at approximately $60,000 and includes cash, photoshoots, endorsement contracts, body sculpts, magazine coverage, promotional opportunities and more. This allows our top competitors to receive the most opportunity with UFE while being able to pursue any other organization they would like. For those that would like PRO status, the winners in our Fitness Model, Figure and Bikini Model categories in the Elite division showdown will have the option to choose to receive their PRO status with WBFF as a result of UFE's working relationship with WBFF.  Now we just mentioned that we offer CASH prizes, but for those who are afraid of losing status with the CBBF, we will allow them to turn down the cash prize and accept a non-cash prize of similar value in lieu of while still also benefitting from the other opportunities that UFE offers its competitors.

We welcome everyone to experience what we are doing with the UFE. All of our shows feature great prizes, we have excellent relationships with industry magazines, top photographers and with our sponsors which amounts to great exposure and excellent opportunities. Finally, we offer some of the most exciting fitness events in the industry and we put alot of what would otherwise be considered profit into producing events that make our competitors feel like stars and that have the audience enjoying themselves. If you haven't yet been a part of our shows, whether it's on the stage or in the audience, come check us out!

(April 24, 2009)
Ultimate Fitness Events want competitors to be aware that we support their efforts to compete in WHATEVER organization they want. We feel the effort and care we put into this organization will speak for itself and we hope that competitors will make UFE one of their choices of organizations to compete with.

However, we have been hearing of another organization that is pompous enough to assume that they can go around banning competitors who want to try out different organizations. This is unacceptable and we ask that competitors take the following into consideration:

First, know your rights. If you are an amateur sport competitor, you cannot be banned from an organization for the simple reason of competing with another amateur organization. You have signed no contract and are under no obligation to anyone. For those who are hearing of competitors that are actually being banned, it is because they have accepted Pro status from another organization or have accepted cash prizes which technically disqualifies them from amateur status. UFE does not designate our top competitors as Pros, rather we call our top competitors Elite division competitors and they sign no contract with UFE. Further, for those that are afraid of being disqualified on account of receiving cash prizes, UFE will allow you to turn down the cash prize and accept an alternate prize at equal value. With this in mind, no organization would have the right to disqualify a UFE competitor and any competitor that receives a threat from another organization about this has the right to ask for it in writing so that they may defend themselves. We will gladly help support any competitor who is put in this situation. Competitors are welcome to contact us at any time to discuss this issue in more detail.

Second, know your worth. Who the heck is any organization to tell a competitor that the competitor needs the organization?! Organizations exist because competitors bring in revenue with entry fees and oftentimes several fans to watch them. Any organization who bans competitors for silly reasons is only shooting themselves in the foot at the end of the day. So take the time to realize what you are worth to an organization and refuse to be bullied. Imagine if an organization actually followed through with banning everyone who competed with another organization...they would crumble! UFE takes a lot of pride in putting on shows of high production value, giving away great prizes and getting our competitors the exposure they deserve. If an organization has to threaten competitors with suspensions and bans because they refuse to or can't step up their game then are they really worth competing with?

(April 24, 2009)
As part of UFE's effort to keep our stages clean, we conducted several drug tests at UFE Spring Bash. We are disappointed to report that one competitor tested positive for several different steroids and, as a result, has been disqualified.

With that said, we would like to congratulate our Overall Winner of UFE Spring Bash in the Male Bodybuilding category, Victor Wojtkiewicz. Victor brought an amazing physique to the stage and was found to be free of ANY banned substances so a kudos out to him. A congratulations also goes out to our Middleweight winner, Romano DaSilva who also tested "clean" of any banned substances. UFE posts all our drug testing results on our website including everything that was tested for and what steroids were found in any competitor that tests positive.

UFE does not test for steroids for the reason that we are moral crusaders; as far as i'm concerned, people can use what they like. HOWEVER, the reason UFE was formed was to create a REWARDING platform for competitors who don't want to spend thousands of dollars on drugs and possibly suffer the health consequences associated with them and we want to give these competitors every opportunity to gain the exposure, earn big prizing and have an amazing time at our shows.

The message here is do what you want, but for those who use drugs to prepare for competition, stick to organizations that allow that so that people who want to train naturally can have a fair outlet to compete!

We do test, we don't use BS methods for testing like a lie detector or physique screening panel and the methods we use are 100% accurate and we will catch the dingbats who want to cheat their way to the top of our organization.

As UFE grows and the opportunities for competitors continues to increase, it is becoming more and more desirable to compete with us in order to take advantage of what we offer, but we do this all for people who can test CLEAN on the drug tests!

(April 13, 2009)
Last year was the first year of Ultimate Fitness Events including UFE Spring Bash and, for a first time event it was fairly successful with almost 40 competitors, 500 spectators throughout the day, a few sponsors and $2500 in CASH awarded.

However, the promise was that Ultimate Fitness Events was going to step up all of our events by several notches after coming off a very successful conclusion to the 2008 season with UFE Halloween Mayhem and UFE National Championships. Well, the promise was delivered on. UFE Spring Bash '09 featured 80 competitors and nearly 1000 fans throughout the day including an over capacity auduence in the evening in our first year with our new 550 seat venue. The show featured a mini expo with a dozen exhibitors and $3500 in CASH and nearly $5000 in additional prizes! The calibre of competitors was simply incredible and the photographers and magazine representatives in attendance took notice. In fact, you can count on some coverage of this event in some major fitness publications so stay tuned!

To everyone, we give a big thank you. We work hard to step up our events because we see how much the competitors enjoy it. We feed off the energy of the fantastic fans that come out to support the competitors and our organization and we work hard to give back to the sponsors that have stepped up to help UFE reach our goal of being the number 1 fitness organization in the country, dedicated to our competitors!

We now have some time to prepare to try and top what has already become the top fitness show in Canada, UFE Halloween Mayhem. UFE Halloween Mayhem will once again feature "Cash Prize Mayhem" in which the cash prizes grow as the number of competitors entering gets bigger. Last year we gave over $5000 in CASH and this year we will look to try and top $10,000! The Mayhem will take place on October 24th!

Finally, top competitors from UFE and other organizations will have a change to vie for $50,000 in CASH and prizes and amazing exposure opportunities in the Elite division at the UFE National Championships on November 14th in Hamilton. This show will also feature a last chance opportunity for competitors to qualify for the Elite division during the morning qualifier event.

(April 13, 2009)
Going forward into 2009, UFE will be eliminating the 1 piece posing suit round in the figure category.

While the 1 piece posing suit round has its place in figure competition, the benefits of eliminating this round are numerous including:

  • less cost to competitors
  • more time for competitors to be showcased during the existing 2 piece round
  • allows shows to be condensed, making for a better audience experience

We are also modelling this decision after that of the WBFF. Because UFE has a close relationship with WBFF and top competitors will have a chance to move on to the Pro ranks of this organization, it makes sense for UFE to follow the lead of the organization who has set the trend in this category.

(April 13, 2009)
UFE doesn't believe in the type of "level system" that many organizations use because, quite simply, it seems as more of a way to lock people into an organization, take more money from them and only be accountable for rewarding those in the very highest level of the system while using it as an excuse to do nothing for competitors at a lower level in the system.

However, we do realize that competitors do exist on different levels and that should be recognized to a degree. For example, most first time competitors will not have refined themselves to the extent of another competitor who has been competing for several years and winning numerous shows.

With both of these points in mind and the fact that many people do like the idea of working their way up the ranks, UFE in partnership with WBFF does have a level system; but a level system that is rewarding for all of our competitors.

Open division - This division of competition is what is featured at all of UFE's events. It is open to competitors of all experience levels, including first timers. Competitors at this level can win cash prizes of at least $500, other great prizes contributed by sponsors (ie: custom suits, body sculpts, supplements, etc.), lots of exposure and the chance to move onto the Elite division.

Elite division - This division is featured at the UFE National Championships evening portion of the event. It is open to competitors who have qualified through UFE or through another organization according to the criteria outlined for each individual organization. Competitors at this level will compete for the title of Ultimate Champion which comes with cash prizes of at least $1000, a sponsorship contract for supplements, a photoshoot with top industry photographers for submission to magazines, prestige and more. The potential exposure for ALL competitors at this level is particularly high because of the calibre of competitors in the event. Many competitors, including those who do not necessarily win in this division have been selected for various opportunities in the industry.

The Elite Female Fitness Model category is also part of the Inside Fitness Magazine Model Search competition where the winner will, not only receive a guaranteed feature in the magazine, but also a test shoot for the COVER.

PRO division - There are many organizations that throw around the fact that they have a Pro division, but to be honest, they are nothing close. Most Pro organizations offer up little more that a $500 cash prize which is what we make available to any first time competitor coming out to compete. Pro status should entail some very significant contribution to a competitor to, not only reward them at the event, but also give them an opportunity to make a successful career in the industry after winning. For the PRO division we have partnered with WBFF to offer the Ultimate Champions in Female Fitness Model, Figure, Bikini Model and Male Fitness Model the chance to compete in the Pro division at the WBFF World Championships. WBFF will be offering Pro winners over $6000 in CASH, paid endorsement contracts, magazine covers, features and more! NO other organization in Canada can offer what WBFF offers to their Pros and they have proven time and time again what they can do for competitors which is why UFE is proud to stand beside them in the industry.

We believe with this level system, UFE offers competitors the best system that allows them opportunities every step of the way and the feeling of being a star at every level!

(March 26, 2009)
In less than 2 weeks, Ultimate Fitness Events will try to top our 2008 season by bringing to the table even more prizes, more exposure and an even better fitness experience in 2009, starting with UFE Spring Bash taking place on Saturday April 4th in Mississauga, ON at Port Credit Secondary School.

Last year we gave away $2500 CASH. This year we have stepped it up to $3500 plus 2 metal plated body sculpts being awarded by Eaglewood Sculpts to the Overall Male and Female Bodybuilding winners. Each of these sculpts will immortalize the physiques these competitors have achieved and are worth over $1500 each for a total cash and prize value of over $6500!

This year, more top industry photographers will be in attendence, at least 4 major fitness publications and 4 major supplement companies will have representatives coming out to the show and Liana Saadi, who has quickly risen to the top as a fitness photographer and talent scout will be at the show providing one free backstage portfolio shot for each and every competitor!

Finally, we seek to raise the bar on the overall fitness experience by providing a better venue a more interactive show and a new mini expo that will feature over 10 exhibitors doing everything from prize draws to sampling to major blowout sales on products and services! If you haven't registered or bought your tickets to be a part of this show, be sure to do so now!

UFE's next Contest Preparation Workshop will take place on Saturday March 14th at Fitness Fanatix in Mississauga. At this workshop, UFE President, Sean Everingham will discuss several areas of contest preparation including dieting in the last few weeks, final training programs, last minute water, sodium, carb, fat depletions and loads and how each one works, tanning and just about everything else related to preparing to be your best on stage. Competitors will also have a chance to look over the judging sheets so that they can see exactly how they will be scored on the day of the show.

Sean will also be joined by custom competition suit designer, Karen Phillips as she discusses competition outfits, colour selection and complimentary products.

Finally, IFBB Team Canada bodybuilder, Kevin Ferrell and IFBB Figure Pro, Tammy Strome will be on hand to work with competitors on proper stage presentation including posing, walking, turning and more. Tammy and Kevin both have years of experience as competitors, contest coaches and judges and, in fact, sit on the UFE judging panel.

This is a 4 hour workshop that will have competitors of any level coming away with additional knowledge to help them succeed. Not only is this a great workshop for UFE competitors, but competitors from any organization looking to do their best. The cost of the workshop is only $60 and comes with a manual that outlines many of the points that will be covered. To reserve a spot at the workshop, simply email us at UFEshows@sympatico.ca indicating your interest and you will receive a confirmation email with all pertinent details.

(February 24, 2009)
Liana Saadi is one of the hottest up and coming photographers on the fitness scene and he work has already appeared in Inside Fitness Magazine and she has already shot the likes of Michele Levesque and Georges St. Pierre. As a result, Liana has been brought on as a contributor to several publications and her submissions to industry mags are now in demand! What a fantastic opportunity then for ALL UFE Spring Bash competitors to have a backstage shot done by Liana.

Liana will have a full setup in the backstage area where all competitors will have a chance to have a shot done. Not only will these shots be excellent momentos of their competition experience, but as a contributor to several publications, Liana may just select a few competitors to do shoots with for one or more of these publications.

She can already be credited for UFE competitor Tim Loughhead's 4 page workout spread in the latest edition of Inside Fitness Magazine! There is NO additional cost for these shots to be done!

(February 24, 2009)
Eaglewood Sculpts will be offering a very unique and, in our opinion, awesome prize to the winners of the Male Bodybuilding and Female Bodybuilding Categories.

The overall winner of both of these categories will have a chance to immortalize the physiques they achieved at UFE Spring Bash by having their bodies cast and will be given the resulting sculpt in their choice of a selection of different metal platings.

What better way to showcase and remember the hard work, sacrifice and achievement that resulted from your journey to the contest stage for years and years to come!

Inside Fitness is bursting with UFE competitors and event coverage in their HOTTEST issue ever!!! Let's start with UFE Male Fitness Model Ultimate Champion Michael McFarlane who's 1 full page photo is prominently featured on Inside Fitness Mag's welcome page. Next, on page 25, UFE National Championships Figure Runner-Up Sandra Lombardo's smoking hot picture is featured as she reads the last issue of IFM. UFE National Championships Male Fitness Model Runner-Up, Tim Lochhead is featured in a 4 page workout feature in the middle of the mag, immediately followed by a 2 page feature of UFE's first ever Female Fitness Model Champion, Michelle DeMaria (though Doug Schneider and SAF should receive credit for submitting that feature).

Following that spread readers are introduced to my other project, Elite Fitness Training Systems and the facility we work from, Fitness Fanatix, located in Mississauga, Ontario.

Next you will find, starting on page 100, a beautiful 3 page feature on this past UFE National Championships and Inside Fitness Model Search Event. This is an event you will NOT want to miss in 2009 and this feature gives you a look into our top Elite competitors as well as those from other organizations that came to bring it on.

After looking into the possibility of logistical and quality control issues when making the decision to cancel a planned event in Calgary, UFE stepped back and looked for the best way for us to take advantage of expansion while ensuring the quality of our shows remain high and our logistical support system is solid.

The point of the expansion is mainly for our competitors to get the feel for a truly national/international organization and to draw more high calibre competitors to our shows. With this in mind, UFE will be expanding to areas that are close to our main base in Southern Ontario.

Our first confirmed location for this expansion will be Montreal in 2010 and we look forward to showing everyone in Quebec our brand of fitness and bringing an event out to our Title Sponsor, MVP Nutrition, which is based in Montreal.

We will also be expanding into Detroit, Michigan and Buffalo, New York. After considering the logistics of running events in the US, we will then make a decision on whether these will be 2010 or 2011 events.
